Tribulation and Victory

Something to think about.

Tribulation and Victory

33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will  have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 (NKJV)

I speak with Christians seasoned Christians, and some are confused, baffled and annoyed at their present circumstances. They question, why God am I going through this I'm a Christian I am your child why must I go through this?  It is almost like they're saying I can handle a little adversity but this is so much more than a little. I should be exempt of this tragedy.

I look at those verses and Jesus is saying, have peace in whatever situation you are in because, in the end, you win. It does not say you will be free from trouble or calamity it only says that you will win because He has won.  Winning may not mean you come out the other side unscathed. It means when you come out the other side you will find Jesus.

Listen, Christian, you are going to have challenges in your life. You may and probably will experience extreme pain. Being a Christian does not exempt you from living it guarantees you will be victorious in life. However, not without a cost. Christ, the sinless son of God, was humiliated, tortured and murdered.  Why would you think you would not pass through some tribulation? We will have a trial, and the cost may be extremely severe. But like Christ, we will come out the other side of this life to glory and eternal victory.  We know that regardless of the cost we win. Because the one who has been resurrected has promised us the eternal victory.

Be of good cherry as much as possible in your tribulation. You know your victory is assured if not in this life then in the one that is to come.

Your Not Exempt

Something to think about.

Your Not Exempt

“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.””
John 16:33 NKJV

Jesus said "You will Have tribulation,"  not if not maybe you will. He also said, "I have overcome the world." Notice He does not say that we will have victory over our tribulations.  He is saying if you if we want to overcome and you want victory over the tribulations that will occur in this life it will only occur in Him. Through Jesus is the only way we will attain the "peace" He is referring to. Only through Jesus can we have a complete victory over the tribulations of life. There is no other way.

Commit

Something to think about.

Commit

Commit your work to the Lord,
   and your plans will be established. Proverbs 16:3

"Commit your work to the Lord," doesn't mean to inform God of your plans, so that He can bless them. It does not refer to a partnership between you and God. It means to take all of your plans in every area of your life and give them to God. It means giving all of your hopes, dreams, ambitions, worries, and problems, your very life to Him. Because He is greater and He can bring to fruition all good things in your life.

Deliverance

Something to think about.

Deliverance

Grace to you and peace from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen. Galatians 1:3-5

Christ died for us, and it is he that will deliver us from this present evil age. By the will of the everlasting Father. We need to be ever aware, that it is Jesus working in us that enables us to overcome any situation. He is the impetus, power and the way of deliverance and there is no other.

Know Your God

Something to think about.

Know Your God

17 Though the fig tree should not blossom,
   nor fruit be on the vines,
the produce of the olive fail
   and the fields yield no food,
the flock be cut off from the fold
   and there be no herd in the stalls,
18 yet I will rejoice in the Lord;
   I will take joy in the God of my salvation.
19 God, the Lord, is my strength;
   he makes my feet like the deer's;
   he makes me tread on my high places.
Habakkuk 3:17-19 (ESV)

If you find yourself in need with no prospects, the only way you can “take joy in the God of my salvation”  is if you know your God. If you don't know your God, you will be crushed by the persistent challenges of life.

Conqueror of the Impossible

Something to think about.

Conqueror of the Impossible

For nothing will be impossible with God.”Luke 1:37 (ESV)

God has given us all we need to accomplish the purpose he created us for. He gives faith, wisdom resources, intelligence, counsel, health, and vision. He has from before time predestined us to win, and after all of that, he is at the end of our rope with an extended hand saying come let me help you.  My God is the conqueror of the impossible.
