By Faith.

3 By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible. Hebrews 11:3

Why do we believe by faith? Because we can not see that which is invisible, not because it does not exist. What this verse is saying is, there are things in existence that are beyond our ability to understand, register, or manipulate. There are forces outside our box of existence that created our existence. There is a cause, and the cause is God.
