Great Reward

Something to think about.

Great Reward

1 After these things the word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward. Genesis 15:1

The word of the Lord," sometimes we miss the most important, for the immediate or most comforting. The God of creation makes a special connection with Abram. He invades time just to assure Abram. A pivotal time in human history and we pass over it as if it were commonplace. God made time when He spoke to Abram, He did not send a messenger or prophet He talked to him Himself. When was the last time God stop time to speak with you and bless you and through you bless the rest of humanity?

God was blessing, reassuring and encouraging Abram. He also blessed and reassured every one of His descendants to this day. Not only to His natural descendants but also those who are grafted in an adopted through Jesus Christ our Lord. That promise, "I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward" did not end with Abram it is for everyone that calls on the name of the Lord. This promise is for us that are of the family of God.

Prevail

Something to think about.

Prevail

“They will fight against you, But they shall not prevail against you. For I am with you,” says the LORD, “to deliver you.””Jeremiah 1:19

This promise of God can not be fulfilled if you are outside the will of God. When you are in a battle whatever it may be, the first thing you need to ask yourself is, am I in the will of God? God will only be involved in the lives of those who invite Him in, He will not invade your domain. Only after you have invited Him in can He deliver you. If you're outside the will of God, He will definitely use you but not necessarily to deliver you. You have the right to fight the battles of your life alone with your limited resources and knowledge. But why would you, when you can have the creator of the universe on your side?

Are You There?

Something to think about

Are You There?

He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, 21 and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. Romans 4:20

If you don't know this story, I encourage you to read the Romans 20.

Abraham being an old man was still expecting, believing and living in full assurance of the fulfillment of the promise. Are you there? Are you, after a long time still convinced that what God has promised you will come to pass? I am not talking about believing, I am speaking of a concrete assurance of the completion of the promise.  Do you know that God can? Do you know that God cannot fail? God has promised you eternal life. Are you convinced with absolute conviction that  He can deliver? That level of conviction, assurance, unmovable knowledge will change the way you look at every aspect of life.

Called Apart

Something to think about.

Called Apart

1The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your fatherʼs household to the land I will show you.
2“I will make you into a great nation,
and I will bless you;
I will make your name great,
and you will be a blessing.
3 I will bless those who bless you,
and whoever curses you I will curse;
and all peoples on earth
will be blessed through you.”
Genesis 12:1-4

God required Abram to leave everything he was comfortable with to go on a journey, to a destiny which Abram had no foreknowledge of. The only thing God gave him was a promise. If God were to ask you to do the same thing what would you do? Yet, He has. He is asking us to leave everything the world has to offered behind.  He is asking us to trust Him for everything in every area of our lives. And He has extended to us a better promise than He gave Abram.  He has promised us if we give it all up for Him He will give us eternal life with Him.

Eternal Promise

Something to think about.

Eternal Promise

In hope of eternal life, which God, who never lies, promised before the ages began Titus 1:2 (ESV

The promise of the only God that has existed before time, Is available to all  who choose to acknowledge Him and accept His word.
