Something to think about.

Witnesses 

14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14

The operative word in this verse is we. John is testifying to what he and his associates have seen.  He is testifying to the life of Christ and is speaking as a representative of others that have seen the same thing, a spokesman. We often take the witnesses of Christ to lightly. There aren't any other witnesses to any ancient historical event as well documented as the life of Christ. These are real people testifying to real events that occurred that have changed the course of history. We should rely on the testimony of biblical witnesses and not on the conjecture of man.

The Light

The Light

6 There was a man sent from God whose name was John. 7 He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe. 8 He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light.John 1:6

John heralded the coming of Jesus as the Christ. Today some two thousand years later he is still doing the same thing. He is still proclaiming the truth of Christ. Only he is not alone; we stand alongside John witnessing and testifying about the Savior of the world. We the brothers and sisters of Christ, the adopted sons and daughters of God, are the light of the world. It is the life of Christ in us that allows us to shine, lighting the way to salvation which is Jesus.

Make Known

Something to think about.

Make Known

25 “Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me. 26 I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.” John 17:25-26

The purpose of Jesus was to make known the unseen God. It was all done so we would know the love of God. Jesus said He would continue to make it known to us. He does that and will continue to do that by living in us. We are to be the open door of love which makes the unseen God known. It is now we who are to make Him “God” known to man. It is now my responsibility,  and your responsibility to be Jesus to the world.

The Proof

 Something to think about.

The Proof

30 And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; 31 but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name. John 20:30-31

The word of God is not an embellished myth or a contrived conspiracy. It is the authenticated proof by eye witness testimonies of power and divinity of Jesus. Denying the veracity of the witnesses does not diminish the truth. "Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God" and through Him, we can have eternal life.

Shining Bright

No one after lighting a lamp covers it with a jar or puts it under a bed, but puts it on a stand, so that those who enter may see the light. Luke 8:16

As Christ was the light of life to us, we are to be the light of Christ to the world.

Bear Witness

Something to think about.

Bear Witness

Jesus speaking of Himself.

If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true. John 5:31

For those who do not know the word of God don't’ know of the witnesses of Jesus. It then becomes our responsibility to be the witness to those who don’t know.

Witness

Something to think about.

Witness

10 “You are my witnesses,” declares the Lord,
   “and my servant whom I have chosen,
that you may know and believe me
   and understand that I am he.
Before me no god was formed,
   nor shall there be any after me.
Isaiah 43:10 (ESV)

We were chosen to believe in Him and know that He is God. We are to be His witnesses.
