Rejoice

Something to think about.

Rejoice

18 yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will take joy in the God of my salvation.19 God, the Lord, is my strength; Habakkuk 3:18 -19

What is the mindset that would say "yet I will rejoice in the Lord?"  Can you imagine a new believer in Christ saying something like this? Honestly no. When tragedy or disappointment strike. A person without experience with Christ is not going to say "yet I will rejoice in the Lord."

Habakkuk was able to say that because he had prior experience with God. He had experiences in which the Lord had delivered Him. He had live with God through the battles of life and had found God to be faithful and abundant.

Have you had  a life where you can say " yet I will rejoice in the Lord?" If not why not? In your life, as a Christian God will show himself worthy of you saying as Habakkuk did "yet I will rejoice in the Lord." When the battles of life come, God will provide a way for you to rise above and succeed over them. Relief will come, it may not come in the way you expect in the manner of your choosing. Or with the outcome you desire but rest assured it will come.  God is always faithful he is constant, steadfast in His deliverance. So much so that if you learn to live in His way in His life, you will be able to say as Habakkuk did "Yet I will rejoice in the Lord."

Handed Over

Something to think about.

Handed Over

9 “Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. Matthew 24:9

In some Bibles, this part of Scriptures is under the heading of "End Times." This is Jesus speaking, and He is referring to events that will occur before His return. The question is, is this our destiny? For many in the Middle East, this is their reality today. The Christian population in many of  Middle Eastern Countries have been annihilated. There is a genocide being committed in the Middle East, but of course, our press has ignored it. ( see https://adfinternational.org/detailspages/press-release-details/never-again-un-side-event-on-genocide-in-the-middle-east )

Here in the USA the former bastion of Christianity we are under constant attacks from many sides. We are being attacked either openly or subversively. Our freedoms religious and civil are under constant assault. The writing is on the wall to the suppression if not eradication of Christianity.  People are openly pushing for the censorship of our views. If you're against homosexuality, you are ostracized, humiliated and labeled ignorant or intolerant. If you support Biblically based marriage, you are closed and simple minded. If you are against the continued murder of the unborn otherwise known as abortion you are a misogynist. If you hold any traditional religious views, you are regarded as a simpleton not worthy of serious consideration.  If you expose the impossibility of evolution, you are called a crack pot. All of these things do not constitute what Jesus was referring to when He spoke the words contained in this verse. What He was referring to is what is happening in the Middle East. What we are now seeing in this country is the precursor is what is taking place in the Middle East.

I don't know if it is too late to turn from this path of self-destruction. Granted I do not see any hope in returning to where we came from. But I pray and hope that we can turn to the path that has been the only hope for the world and that is the path to Christ. If we can not turn the tide of anti-Christian persecution we will fulfill his end time prophecy.  We will be "handed over to be persecuted and put to death."

Our Hope

Something to think about.

Our Hope

23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.

Life is about hope everyone hopes for something better. Everyone desires for something to improve in their lives. Which is natural. But in what do you put your hope? Jesus is the only one that promised rest, salvation, life, forgiveness, love, restoration and freedom. He is the only one that proved an ability to provided those things as a result of His resurrection. He is the only source of hope. Only He can fulfill your hope.

Your Legacy

Something to think about.

Your legacy

The Lord passed before him and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness, keeping steadfast love for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, but who will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children and the children's children, to the third and the fourth generation.” Exodus 34:6-7
Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations, Deuteronomy 7:9

Two potential legacies, you are the one that will break a curse or start a blessing.

Faithful And Sure

Something to think about.

Faithful And Sure

O Lord, you are my God;
I will exalt you; I will praise your name,
for you have done wonderful things,
plans formed of old, faithful and sure. Isaiah 25:1

God has done wonderful things today! We need to appreciate and acknowledge our living God that blesses us daily.  We need to praise Him for what He does today and what He has done in the past. The plans that he instituted before the creation of man will come to fruition in His time there is nothing that can stop them.

Faithful

Something to think about.

Faithful

9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 (ESV)

We may think this verse is about confession and cleansing, which it is, but it is more about faithfulness. It is about God’s continual faithfulness in forgiving us of our sin.  We could confess into eternity, but if He were not faithful to forgive, our confession would be pointless.
