Something to think about.
The Currency Of Heaven
19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
The
underlying theme of these verses is currency, money, wealth anything of
value. Notice that all the currency in verse 19 can be lost in one way
or another. In verse 20 it is saying save a currency that will not be
destroyed. When you consider that after the resurrection all will be
made new, a new body a new earth, what currency can we possibly store in
heaven? The answer is
that which will exist forever, the soul of man. How many souls will be
saved because of your efforts? Though we don't have any way of knowing
the answer to that question we know that the more we use our lives to
bring people to Christ the greater will be our currency in heaven. There
is no other action or result God will honor in heaven, the currency of
God is the soul of man.
20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Matthew 6:19-21 (KJV)
