Perfect

Something to think about.

Perfect

48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect. Mathew 5:48

Was Matthew in his right mind when he made this statement? I have read this verse many times and have blown right by it because the implications are mind-boggling.

God is perfect,  a concept that is as foreign to us as understanding the life of an ever existing being. To me, perfection is something that has always been perfect because perfection cannot come from imperfection. Because if it came from imperfection, it would then be imperfect.  It would mean that at some point in the perfections existence it was imperfect.  Regardless of the time spent removing imperfection from the would be perfection there would always be the smallest part of imperfection and as such perfection would forever be tainted by the one instance of imperfection.

Let's define imperfection as sin. God is perfect and has never sinned. Throughout His existence, He has not ever sinned not once, not by mistake, not unintentionally not by omission. Nope never ever sinned.  If the smallest of sin were to penetrate into Gods existence all of the perfection would be lost forever.  One sin one tiny insignificant sin would destroy perfection.  Perfection and sin can't coexist perfection must always destroy sin.

When I was in the Airforce, I work on aircraft fuel systems. This required climbing into aircraft fuel tanks. This process required purging fuel tanks of fumes. We purge them until they were at an acceptable level, expressed in parts per million.  The acceptable level was not perfectly clean air. If you applied parts per million to perfection, you would realize perfection does not allow for parts per million.  As soon as you let the smallest sin into perfection, it would cease to perfect.

The question is how does sinful man gain approved access to the realm of God? The answer is the complete and total cleaning of sinful man.  The problem is how does man become perfect so he can enter into the presence of God?  Perfection implies everything around God, everything in His presence must be perfect.  He is perfect in Holiness,  righteousness, love, power, and justice. Since God is perfect, He and only He is responsible for maintaining perfection. He is responsible for eradicating sin as to make it as it never occurred. The destruction and cleaning of sin is so complete that even the memory of it does not exist.

God's perfection does two things. First, it invalidates the ideology of attaining access to God through works or earning your way into His presence.  Since He is perfect and everything around Him must be perfect even the memory of your sin must not exit. Since you cannot remove your sin and you can not clean your sin. You at best can only dilute it your work is worthless. The stain of sin any wrongdoing will always destroy perfection. That is something God will not allow.

The second thing God's perfection does is it creates a wall of impenetrable separation between God and man. We can't cross over into His realm of existence, and He will not cross over into ours. If we were to enter into His realm as we are or He to enter ours, the result would be the total annihilation of humanity. The eradication of humanity would be so complete it would not leave a trace of evidence, a memory of our existence. You must understand God's perfection requires perfection nothing less.

If you understand, only perfection can completely clean and destroy sin. It is Gods responsibility to clean and destroy sin. If you comprehend only a perfect God can accomplish these things, you begin to understand the need for a Christ. Only perfection can clean sin. Only perfection can remove every vestige of sin only perfection can remove the memory of sin. In the simplest terms, it is God and only God that can purify us from our sin and grant us access to Him.

This is why Jesus. Because only perfection can clean the sin of humanity. A perfect sacrifice for our sin. The sacrifice and death of His son occurred for the destruction and cleansing of sin. That is the only way sin will not destroy us. Without a perfect sacrifice, we would be left alone to face a perfect God with the responsibility of maintaining perfection. That is why Jesus is the way the truth and the light. Because only through perfection can we gain access to heaven and that perfection in every way is Jesus, the door to our salvation.

We are not filtered through Jesus because every filter only collects dirt it does not cleanse anything. The filter must always be disposed of and changed. Because the perfection of  Jesus, we are made new, a new creation free from the stain of sin we are made Holy and acceptable to God. The perfection of Christ destroys and cleanses us from all sin. Only God Himself can completely and totally, remove, destroy and cleanse us of our sin.

Since perfection can't come from imperfection, imperfection cannot produce perfection. Our sin nature regardless of what we do within our own abilities can't eradicate the sin in our lives. Simply put sin can't make you sinless. Only a perfect God can eliminate sin entirely so as to remove even the instance of sin.

A New Earth

Something to think about.

A New Earth

13 Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. 2 Peter 3:13

I don't think anyone disputes the earth will eventually cease to sustain life. There are differences of opinion on how the eventuality will occur but not on its occurrence.  The Bible says that God Himself will bring about the end of the world. It also says that He will create a new world and a new heaven. It will not be a rebirth it will not be something that comes out of the ashes of the old. It will be something entirely different because it will be a place of righteousness. Any and all forms of sin will not be present there even the remembrance of sin will not be known.
Only righteousness will be allowed in this new heaven and new earth. Only those who by faith have been justified, sanctified and cleansed by the blood of Jesus will be allowed access. Since it is impossible to attain righteousness in any other way all who reject Christ not be there. Lets not complicated it. Let's not get caught up in laws, rituals traditions and old habits. Jesus said, "I am the way the truth and the life." Our eternal future is wrapped up in this one man. God himself removed every hindrance to salvation by offering His son as payment for our sin. So we may live forever with Him in the new heavens and earth.

Do you want to be a citizen of the new earth?

No Compromise

Something to think about.

No Compromise

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6
12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Acts 4:12

Some who claim Christianity are redefining and manipulate the scriptures. These two scriptures are complete and immutable in themselves.  They leave no room for compromise or manipulation.  You can't read these two scriptures and arrive at any other conclusion than, Jesus is the one and only way to salvation and eternal life. As long as these two uncompromising scriptures remain, everyone under the sun that misrepresents the Gospel of Jesus Christ is a liar.

What I am saying here is, God will not make a special exception for you.  He clearly stated the way to salvation and eternal life. Your intellect and superior reasoning is foolishness before God. If you live out your life with your own reasoning and interpretation of the scriptures. If you claim your own righteousness, live with your own intellectual discernment, you will be judged by it. God will not force the sacrifice of His son for your life. He will honor your decision, and you will be judged by His standards and your righteousness, reasoning, and intellect.  Just so you know, just so you can not say no one told me. His standard is perfection.  The question you have to answer now before you come before the judgment seat of God is this. Will everything I believe in, justify me before a perfect God?

Nails in His Hand

Something to think about.

Nails in His Hand

In Jeremy Camp's song "The Man" some of the lyrics are.

Would you take the place of this man? Would you take the nails from his hands?

As I was preparing a piece of furniture for spraying this song played on the radio. I contemplated the lyric. "Would I take the place of this man"? Knowing the death Jesus experienced my immediate response was no. As I gave it more thought, I came to my conclusion, absolutely not. Not under any conditions what so ever would I take His place. I would not take nails from His hands.

Before you say well, that's because you don't love Him let me explain. Had I taken His place on the cross had I taken the nails from His hands, only Jesus would have been saved. Only Jesus, because of His righteousness, not mine. If the entire human race were sacrificed, it would not warrant the salvation of one person. We, in total, do not possess the currency to pay for our sin. If I or anyone else had taken His place the resulted would be the damnation of humanity. It had to be Jesus who paid for our sin. He is the only one who possesses the currency to pay for our sin. The currency is righteousness, and Jesus is the only who possesses righteousness. He is the only one who could save the world from our sin. Anyone else would be powerless to forgive sin. His righteousness is why He is Lord. Only he could do what we could not. Only he is our propitiation.

2 My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. 2 And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world. 1 John 2:1-2

Called

Something to think about.

Called

9 For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was his plan from before the beginning of time—to show us his grace through Christ Jesus. 2 Timothy 1:9

Since before the beginning of time, God had set into motion all that was necessary for you to hear His call.   Before the foundation of the world, God had established a plan of salvation. Whereby we could live with Him. He knew what would happen before you were born. He orchestrated events so you would be in the right place at the most opportune time in your life to hear His call. If that is not amazing enough He did it all without violating your free will.  He calls us to live a holy life the best life a life we can't find on our own. This holy life is not diminished by the absence of sin it. Is enhanced by the purity of righteousness.  The fulfillment of the plan was completed through grace by His Son Jesus Christ.

All Scripture

Something to think about.

All Scripture

16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.. 2 Timothy 3:16-17

We have people who question the veracity and the originality of the scriptures. Claiming the written word has been tainted, changed or influenced by transmission, translation and out and out conspiracy. All of these accusations are based on an incorrect understanding of God. God who created the universe is capable of maintaining His word intact throughout the generations.  The idea that God inspired people to write His instruction manual and then left it to be changed and manipulated is ludicrous. God's word "is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness," because He has taken special care to ensure that it has remained unchanged by the passions, ambitions, and manipulations of man. It is Gods word and not mans word as such He will never let the world be without it. God will not allow His divine word to be replaced by a polluted counterfeit production of Man.

Walking In wisdom

Something to think about.

Walking In wisdom

20 Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm. Proverbs 14:20

If you associate with people who are in opposition to God, they will bring you harm.  Righteous wisdom is only given to those who are in submission to the will of God.  Worldly wisdom leads to worldly solutions that lead to worldly problems. Outside the will of God, all human wisdom will give rise to another problem never a solution. That's why we continue to repeat the same mistakes over and over and over again. Associate with people who are seeking and doing the will of God and wisdom will knock you down.

Seek

Something to think about.

Seek

33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

How do you find the “Kingdom of God”? We are told by Jesus to seek the "kingdom of God," but we are not told how. Or are we? Jesus ads “and his righteousness” if there is one are attribute or characteristic of the “kingdom of God” it is righteousness. Righteousness can only be attained through Jesus. So if we are to find the kingdom of God we must seek the righteousness that Jesus has imparted to us then and only then will we find the "kingdom of God." Matthew 6:33 (KJV)

Not A Word

Something to Think About

Not A Word

“Not a word failed of any good thing which the LORD had spoken to the house of Israel. All came to pass.” Joshua 21:45 NKJV

God is faithful to fulfill His promises. We as Israel lose the path of God we wander away from His goodness. God never changes His path is still the same. He still is seeking those that would obey Him and share in His salvation and glory.

33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33(KJV)

Seek the Lord

Something to think about.

 Seek the Lord

“Seek the LORD while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the LORD, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.” Isaiah 55:6-7 NKJV

God is calling to you. He is doing all He can short of taking away your free will. For you to turn from your wicked ways and be saved. The principal part of these verses is "while He may be found". If you turn from your wicked ways and repent, God will be gracious in mercy and forgive you.

There will come a time in your life when God will stop calling, wooing you. His call for you to repent is not life long. There is a moment when God will leave you to your own devices, leave you to your own righteousness. Then when your time comes to stand before God, you will only have your righteousness to justify yourself before a perfect God. He will judge you by His perfect standard, do you really want to do that?

Living and Powerful

Something to think about.

Living and Powerful

12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Hebrews 4:12

Even though this was written shortly after the crucifixion of Christ, it still bears the truth. The word of God is still a sharp sword piercing through the heart of man. Discerning righteousness and sin, relentlessly exposing injustice and rebellion. The word of God stands as a standard that exposes the inequity of man, and as such it reveals the evil and inherently vile heart of man. The sword of God which is the word of God has always caused division and separation among men because the perfect righteousness of God will not exist with any sin.  Someday you will stand before God, and you will be judged in accordance with the undeviating standard of God, which is His word. On that day the piercing sword of God will identify those who have received redemption.

Mocked

Something to think about.

Mocked

Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. Galatians 6:7 (ESV)

Society is mocking God from every corner. It is disheartening to any Christian to have the world mock God, but due to their ignorance, it should not be a surprise. They do not fear respect or honor God. It is not uncommon for people to mock or ridicule what they don't understand. However, it is quite another thing when people who do now better mock God. We Christians! Mock God when we intellectualize, rationalize or justify sin.  We mock and dishonor God when we fall in line with society by supporting their deviations of the word of God based on our desires to be part of this world. When we behave fearlessly in opposition to the word of God, we mock God.  As much as we don't want to hear this, if you are going to be a true believer and follower of Christ there will be this inescapable reality, you will be the weird one in societies eyes. You will be the one who stands out, you will be the one which will be a thorn in their side because righteousness stands out like a light in the deepest darkness. You see when you became a Christian you became the light of righteousness that can not be extinguished, you by association with Christ, are the light in this world that points to God. The world is determined to turn you off, they can not, but you can, by mocking God you follow the path that will distinguish your light and bring you into the deepest darkness.

The Prize

Something to think about.

The Prize

“Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 3:13-14 NIV

We like to quote this scripture, for reasons of inspiration, motivation, and self-assuredness in the righteousness of our work.  But I ask you do you even know what the prize is? It is not salvation, salvation can not be earned, It is not righteousness as "our righteous acts are like filthy rags" it not justification as we are "justified by faith."

What is it then, what is the prize? The prize is fulfilling the purpose that God created you for. The prize is fulfilling the call of a servant. The prize is hearing God say to you in person well done "good and faithful servant." To be a servant of God, you must forget all of your past, your hurts, victories disappointments, and successes. You must change the paradigm of your life and press forward in the work the Lord has prepared you for. So you can look forward to the prize of  "well done good and faithful servant."

Better or Worse

Something to think about.

Better or Worse

And Jesus answered and said to them, “Do you suppose that these Galileans were worse sinners than all other Galileans, because they suffered such things? 3 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. Luke 13:2-3

If you are Clinton or Trump, known or unknown, proud sinner or self-proclaimed saint if you don’t repent you will perish. Perish does not mean you will cease to exist; that would be a blessing. Perish means you will live apart from the forgiveness, wonder, glory, majesty, justice, love, peace, joy, holiness and righteousness of God. You will live apart from God in uncontrolled chaos and unbridled unrighteousness, without the mercy of God. You will be condemned to know of God but denied any of His glorious gifts.

A Crown

A Crown

8 Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing. 2 Timothy 4:8 (ESV)

I never thought I would be crowned with anything but the Word says the Lord, “the righteous judge”  will crown me. This is awesome and what is even more awe-inspiring is that it is available to all who have loved his appearing.
